Typical, more talk, no facts. No money, and there won't be. Hell, he is too chicken to even get me to lose a $1000 bucks to the NRA when I can't prove what I said. Of course, to do that, he would have to put up real money, all of a whole thousand bucks. Not D.F.C. net money. Talk is cheap....

Re. NRA donations.

For the record, I suggested the donations with tongue partly in cheek -- and with half a hope that it would serve as a deterrent.

But since it didn't quite turn out that way ...

I'll be happy to receive them and pass them on. I'd rather not serve as any kind of referee, and will mention or not mention if I got your check, totally according to your preferences. If you want me to say it was received, I'll say so; if not, I won't. If you don't say, I'll keep my mouth shut.

In the spirit of this thread I need to mention that the NRA has LOTS of different accounts you can contribute to. Here is a brief rundown of some of the alternatives.

NRA Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA) is where I work and we could use the money. It will fund all legislative activities above and beyond salaries & operating expenses. Contributions are not tax-deductible.

NRA Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) is our political action committee and provides direct support for pro-gun candidates, through contributions and campaign ads, etc. Contributions are not tax-deductible, and if you give $200 in a calendar year, it's subject to disclosure so you need to list your occupation and employer.

NRA Civil Rights Defense Fund supports litigation and legal scholarship. Contributions are tax-deductible under federal law.

NRA Foundation supports shooting sports and safety education -- if you go to a "Friends of NRA" dinner, this is where the money goes. Contributions are tax-deductible under federal law.

If you just make out a check to "NRA" it will go in a general fund that keeps the lights on and pays our salaries. This is not tax-deductible.

Your choice.

Why not have everyone who's posted on this thread make a donation to the NRA in the name of the 24 Hour Campfire and send it to John. John could then tally how much money was raised, and we could turn what's largely been a negative and foolish thread into positive and uplifting action. If they so choose, folks would be allowed to brag on the amount of their contribution, but only after the amount is verified by John.

Sorry about the double PM, for some reason the first one didn't show up as sent. I'll have T Lee's (geesh, can I pick dum....errr...I mean slow friends ) $100 check in the mail to you tomorrow. I'll send it to your section, why not, I don't normally itemize anyway.

PS: Unless you take credit cards, in which case I can call you with the info tomorrow. Please post it on here when you receive it. Most people won't believe it, otherwise. Some of them will want pics of the check, I'm sure.

Blaine, That's a very nice idea. I think we could/should send the money to Rick. He could post the amount and the phony name used here on the site.

What a phony you are. If you sent a PM, why in the hell do you need to post you're BS for all to see? Looking for brownie points? Or just a feeler to see what a hundred bucks will buy, in the way of loyalty.

From a friend, thought I would share. Maybe a little perspective is needed.

A group of students was asked to list what they thought were the present Seven Wonders of the World. Though there was some disagreement, the following got the most votes:

1. Egypt's Great Pyramids
2. Taj Mahal
3. Grand Canyon
4. Panama Canal
5. Empire State Building
6. St. Peter's Basilica
7. China's Great Wall

While gathering the votes, the teacher noted that one quiet student hadn't turned in her paper yet. So she asked the girl if she was having trouble with her list.

The girl replied, "Yes, a little. I couldn't quite make up my mind because there were so many."

The teacher said, "Well, tell us what you have, and maybe we can help." The girl hesitated, then read, "I think the Seven Wonders of the World are:

1. to touch
2. to taste
3. to see
4. to hear She hesitated a little, and then added
5. to feel
6. to laugh!
7. and to love

The room was so full of silence you could have heard a pin drop. Those things we overlook as simple and "ordinary" are truly wondrous.

A gentle reminder that the most precious things are before you: your family, your faith, your love, your good health and your friends.

NRA does take credit cards but I personally have absolutely no idea how I could do that. I think checks are better but I will warn/promise all up front that there is NO scanner at my office!

Well, dumbazz, since you asked, I replied here, because John replied here. Any other of your unending stupid questions?

No, I'm not looking for Brownie points, I just do what I say I'll do and the check will be good too. We're all waiting for your matching funds check to arrive. Right......

Don't hold your breath, aszhole. As a matter of fact, I do have another question. Why didn't you go to your attorney and sign the agreement so we could settle this like gentlemen?

Now its gone from a "rough draft" to an agreement. Right.....anymore changes, like your bear story, it lives and shrinks even though it's dead.

I repeat, regardless of your worth, you're worthless.

Well, lets put it this way. You could have got off your lazy asz and done something, anything is better than nothing. I try never to quote the law to anyone, but in your case. Any written agreement, however written, is a legal and binding document, if signed by both parties and notarized. You had the option of reviewing it and requesting changes. You sat on you're fat asz and did absolutely NOTHING, but run your mouth on this site. You are a joke as a man and your word sucks. What a piece of sh:t you are. And I might add, too stupid to shut up.

Oh, so now the faxed rough draft was signed and notarized by you? Sure.....anymore delusions you care to share tonight, bigger bears, new pictures, please get it all out, it'll help with your therapy.

You really become more of a joke as you go along..."too stupid to shut up", want to count posts in this thread, blabbermouth?

I hate to go back on my word and actually post to your sorry person again, but I missed your response as it came in at exactly the same time I posted...

Prove it, you say... well, in spite of the fact ANYONE that has ever seen a truly big bear would see the differences instantly... I'll tell you what, tell me what drainage and what year you shot your bear and I will check with ADF&G to see what their records indicate.

You could name the guide if you would rather, or any other information to make the search a bit easier for me. I'm saying the usually inflated F&G numbers will not come close to 10'. Likely, the skull won't go over 24".

BTW, I am not in any way disparaging the bear, only the obvious lie about the size.

Why do you try to change the subject? The subject here is the bet and your sorry do nothing asz. I don't want to talk about pictures, bears or fish. We all, want to know why you didn't go to your attorney and get this bet rolling. I'm not the only one that thinks you are a liar and a fraud. What about the lawyer? Tell us another story about why you didn't do anything about the bet. You are a liar and a fraud.

I'm not going to let you help this POS change the subject either. The bear is none of your business and you should stick to running your head up the bug killers asz, you do it so well, and leave me alone. Is that plain enough for you?

Just like I suspected... oh well, back to my initial offer. I'll not respond to you again, this time I mean it.
