Spring is coming, it's only minus 20 now and 4 feet of snow, ......... another month and the ice roads will shut down!
but May is not that far away if we're lucky!

With highs in the 40’s and 20+ mph winds…..our snow is disappearing very fast! memtb

Well, it is snowing here right now, but it snows in the spring here too. Memorial Day weekend you can count on it----especially if you plan something!

Crazy week. Pretty cool today and low 80’s tomorrow so a golf day for my wife and a range day with my eldest son. Then a pretty healthy cool off with flurries possible later. We were mid-90’s last week.

Saw one far hill country TX forecast the next few days of 2 feet of snow. LOL.

Will hit the upper 30s here supposedly. Sure could use about 5 inches of rain though.

Winter comes back for us today. Wind, rain and snow. Temperatures down in the teens tonight. Mother nature is hating us right now.

Much of the snow has melted with mid 40's highs

Drifts will linger

Clear dry spell for 3 days....25* over night

Storms return Monday with more rain/snow

Highest snow pack/water content in 40 years

Flooding already started many areas

Only 8 inches of snow this week, so normal spring weather.

Lefty, I think that's headed our way.
School is out at noon, and grandson's concert is postponed

For some reason I thought Live oak didnt lose leaves?

Maybe they just never change color??

The ones around San Antonio drop their leaves in February as the new ones come out to replace them. The leaves are relatively small, thick and leathery and the whole tree is prairie fire resistant.

Dunno how that ties into hanging on to their leaves all winter.

Anyhoo…. As per the original subject, February and March is when the contrast between the wildflowers-are-already-out South and still-frigid North is most apparent.

Another 4-6" coming today and tonight. Blowing like hell, and temps back to cold for a few days again. Typical March weather.

Killdeer are back, Sandhills are back, lows for the next three nights are forecast at 2, 2, and 6 degrees. Then more snow/rain.

And it appears the cold will be around well into April.

All winter, total, we've had three or four 1" snows - and one 3-4 incher. frown
Started out this morning with rain, turned to snow about 7 AM, and still snowing. smile
Ground is warm enough it got up to about 1 1/2" and holding. WET one, though.
Thank you, Lord - we need it!
Storms have gone around us all winter, but there's still time for a good, old-fashioned spring blizzard.
Hope not, as the neighbors are dropping calves right now.
