To make youse guys feel better about the job your state's wildlife agencies are doing...I offer this little snippet from the state of fruits and nuts. They announced that 20 million dollars in grants will be made available (from Dept of Fish and Wildlife budget) to be given to cannabis growers to help promote good water use practices, best practice farming and to help offset the cost of cannabis permits. 20 million for stressed deer herd management...nope, elk...nope, salmon...nope, sage grouse...nope. If they are as successful at 'helping' the dope growers as wildlife management...permit dope growers will be extinct in a few years, and we will be back to cartel growers in the National Forests. Gavin Newsom...the mastermind Einstein of state governors.

Well the wildlife has pretty much disappeared anyway. What Deer? The deer population has dwindled to the point of no return as I see it and the State hasn't done a damn thing to improve anything wildlife related in many years with the one exception of saying how much they are improving it. They keep blowing their own horn on how great a job they're doing when all the while not doing anything productive.

I spent a little over 3 years in the Bay Area when I was active duty USN on the USS Pyro AE-24. We were homeported at the Concord Naval Weapons Station but spent most of our time at either Mare Island or Alameda. Hunted deer there every season I could. CA had, without a doubt, the most screwed up hunting regs and seasons of any state I have hunted in and I have held licenses in 13 states. The coastal blacktail season is held in July and Aug when it is 100 degrees making meat care a nightmare. God help you if you want to shoot a doe since they seem to be sacred but I saw at least 80 does for every buck I saw. Deer were so hard to come by that I killed every legal buck I saw during the season since I knew it was very likely to be the only buck I would see.

As soon as I was up for orders I hauled A$$ out of that screwed up state swearing I would never return. Orders came in 1993 and I have kept my promise.

It's unbelievable how people think other's people money should benefit them. I know it's the norm now, but how do people sleep at night knowing they are stealing from others as a way of their existence? It's not just fish and wildlife groups where the license buyers pay all the bills, it's county, state, and federal governments collecting taxes on the successful people, only to redistribute it in what is clearly defined as socialism, but pitched as punishing evil corporations. Our country has gone mad.

Giving $20 million of Fish and Game money to pot growers, I wonder how much they are kicking back to Newsom?
