That is really, really cool.
4 or 5 years ago I went to an auction with 2 Krags listed, plus 660 rounds of ammo. I bought the ammo for $105 then missed the rifles. Ended up giving the ammo to a good friend. Would love to get it but timing is off for me.

They're pretty neat old rifles. Take a handful of cartridges, open the side compartment, drop them in and start firing. Unique design...must have been expensive to build at the time.

I did a quick cleaning today and the rifling came up strong. I'll see if I can get a photo down the bore tomorrow.

Grumpy old man with a gun.....Do not touch . Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6. Don't bother my monument and I'll leave yours alone.

Quit giving in inch by inch then looking back to lament the mile behind ya and wonder how to preserve those few feet left in front of ya. They'll never stop until they're stopped. That's a fact.

Dang, always wanted one of these since I was a kid. Growing up a good older friend had one that looked just like this and I hunted with him every year. I was always enamored by it and wanted one. If it falls through let me know.

They're pretty neat old rifles. Take a handful of cartridges, open the side compartment, drop them in and start firing. Unique design...must have been expensive to build at the time. Let's just say that only a precious few hunters could afford to pay for the skilled hand fitting that went into each one. In today's high output manufacturing world, all of those old Krags compare as hand made works of craftsmanship. Kinda like when you pull the sidelocks out of an old double, and realize that every part of it is hand fit and jeweled. Except the Krag action is more complicated and they had to get inside it too.
Work is what you do to finance your real life.....

Congratulations on the sale.
The 30/40 Springfield is an action I think is like no other!
And that is most positive.

I have my granddad's craig that looks just like this but mine is in better condition. It was my dad's favorite deer rifle.

I'm kinda partial to the Krag too. One I finished building last summer: It's good that Biebs sold it because I dropped by earlier to buy it after stewing on it overnight. Thankfully someone beat me to it and removed the temptation!

Wow, Gary! Fill us in on the details.
That barrel contour doesn't look like either of mine..... What caliber? I'm guessing the action limits caliber options.
Can we expect to see that in the postal match?
