I called a local shop today to see if they had any Elements coming in 7 PRC. My timing was good because they had just got 2 of them in. I hurried and headed to town. When I walked in the shop 1 was on the counter and a guy had just finished the paper work for it.
Luckily I got the other one and they gave me an additional 10% off because they are putting all seekins rifles on sale in April so they went ahead and gave me the discount a bit early. It was only $2360 after the 10% off of the sticker price.
They also had 1 box of factory 175 eldx ammo for sale with it. It's pretty light with a thin barrel but going element was the only way to get the 22" barrel length I prefer. Now I need to decide which scope to put on it. Might start with a bushy lrhs 4-18. I wish I had an extra 3-12 lrhs for it.
I think I'm going to like this rifle, especially if they get some stock spacers out for it soon. The stock is just a bit short for me but the rumor is that spacers are in the works. I've already taken the loudener off the muzzle.

Nice snag at that price. I'm picking up the same rifle/chambering from my ffl tomorrow morning. I have 5 boxes of 7 PRC ammo on hand and will move an Athlon 2-12x from another rifle to get started.
Let us know how yours shoots...

Bb If you have the 4.5-18 LRHS, I have a 3-12 LRTSi I might consider trading for it. John

Good buy. IMHO the best bang for the buck by far in a light rifle. I'm likely going to end up with a pair of them and sell everything else in between... I've one in 6.5 PRC that does this jammed...

Just pulled mine out of the box - came in just under the 6 lb spec'd weight for the long action.

Been looking at that same rifle, already have a Seekins Havak Element in 308 and love it!

Looking forward to your range report.
🦫 Just got back from 1st shooting session. 1st group with shots 6-8 after sighting in (100 yds): (3) 3 shot groups (100 yds) letting barrel cool between groups: Overall, quite satisfied. Recoil is lively but not painful (only shot it without muzzle brake). Very stable and easy to shoot from the bench. Weight with Athlon Helos 2-12x and full mag is a touch under 8 lbs. I can see this becoming a go-to for chasing elk.

Man, that isn't too bad for a new gun with some box ammo! Looks like it's off to a good start.
Are you going to handload or just shoot factory stuff?

I'll handload for it. I have 5 boxes of factory and fired 18 rounds today. 82 more to go, but likely won't get through all of it before I can't stand it and have to roll some if my own

I put the included ATC brake on briefly and took it back off before shooting it. I'm not a fan of muzzle brakes but may try it next time out just for comparison. No fence post pics yet but here it is all together:

Looking good there!
I’m having some accessories issues with mine at the moment. I smoked the Vortex Razor LHT riding the Element after shooting less than 40 rounds. It’s going back to see the scope medic at Vortex.
Then about the same time my scope dies. My 4 year old MagnetoSpeed keels over dead trying to run speeds on the Element.
Hey, but the rifle shoots great 👍🏼 I got a NF NX8 2.5-20 landing Friday. That should fix the little recoiling bitch right up.
Getting my chronograph fixed isn’t looking good. Plus, there’s not much available for inventory at this moment. Not worried, here. I have time on my side.
Glad you’re liking your 7PRC.

Funny thing about MagnetoSpeed - took mine out to clock the factory ammo in this thing. The plastic case had a bunch of water in it and the display unit had popped open, and the electronics got wet. Needless to say, it wouldn't power up so now it's sitting in a bag of rice. I don't have a warm/fuzzy it will come back to life...

You have warranty protection. I’m SOL. 🦫

I’d call Magneetospeed anyways. They are great to deal with, nice and helpful.

Overnight in a bag of rice and a new battery did the trick. Powered right up this morning...

I’ve been considering one of these or a proof research. Any negatives so far?
