While I have no experience hunting with the .300 BLK, I can share my experience with sub-sonic ammo in a short barrel. First and formost, if you barrel has a 1/8 twist, you cannot expect good accuracy nor can you assume it will stabilize all sub-sonic ammo. My 1/8 PSA upper key holes Gorilla Ammo 220s at 25 yards!

I will update here soon, but I just built a new upper based on a mos-tek barrel with 1/5 twist. I expect it to yield much better accuracy with sub-sonic ammo and my Banish 30.

Twist rates vary wildly. It has more to do with length of the projectile than anything.

For instance, a 45acp can stabilize a 230 gr bullet with nothing more than a 1:16 twist.

My 300blk has a 1:7 twist and stabilizes everything I have shot through it up to 240 gr.
