No way could I afford the Uber-glass binoz. The Monarch 7 Nikons have had good reviews. I'm considering the 10X30 @ $310.00 + tax n ship.

I think they are a very good mid-range binocular, although I believe the 8x42 hit the sweet spot. Ergos work well for me and the glass is very good- to my eyes.

I wouldnt own a 10x32 bino due to exit pupil size, an 8x32 is a better option

It is irrelevant what you think. What matters is the TRUTH.

Mule Deer has listed some binoculars for sale recently, almost like he's downsizing the stable. I'd get in touch with him to see if he has something similar to what you're looking for.

My daughter has that pair. 7s 8x30.They are nice and supper compact. I also have the 3s 10x42. Solid pair for the $. But I promise you If you buy tract 8 or 10x 42 They are worth it every penny. Wish I would have bit the bullet sooner

All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.

A lot of awfully nice binoculars can be found in the $400-600 range on the used market. I know this is just above the price point the OP mentioned but it seems worth considering. I've bought Zeiss, Swarovski and Cabelas/Meostar in this range. A very nice Pentax was even a bit less.
