Sure, why not. I have used my20 ga Citori the last 2 fall seasons. Just a stock full choke. Patterned and shots taken at a distance where the bird will be killed. Worked fine.

No way I'm using my Grade VII 20 gauge Citori for turkey hunting.... well... maybe! Lol!

I bought choke tubes for the Browning 725 12 gauge and it shoots incredible. Patterns to point at 40 yards and the triggers are great...
But I struggle with taking my nicest gun turkey hunting.
It would be my "short gun" in the blind on the crappiest rain day so I have not committed.

Now I'm moving away from 12 gauge and looking at 20 gauge OU... So I bought a stevens 555 in 20 gauge to try and initial test is not good. Heavy trigger...

My fear is will I remember to switch the barrel when a bird comes in. As another poster said... A double trigger would be perfect.

The risk of missing close with my tight bored auto or not using the OU to its full capability...

Maybe I'm over thinking and just shoot... straight.

Great hunt and pic of that young lady. Also, that double turkey, I see 1 hull - not a 2 for 1 was it? Curious..

I'd like to take a Turkey with an O/U, will see.

Bought an ATI Cavalry turkey gun in 20 ga. Shooting a tru-glo turkey in top tube and factory modified on the bottom. Killed a turkey the day after I bought it. I have bought a Carlson's Longbeard XR choke for it and a Bushnell Red dot but it's not fully set up for hunting yet. I'll probably have the metal cerakoted midnight bronze this summer, the stocks are the new bottomland camo.

I like it, short and lightweight.

I honestly am unsure what chokes I have in this 20 gauge. I am thinking imp/mod, but am not totally sure. It certainly doesn't have a special 'turkey choke'. I also use regular #6 pheasant loads for the most part, though sometimes they're 3" Prairie Storm level loads. Never an issue. I am unsure if I have ever bought shells specifically for turkey.

I have no clue why I didn't stick the shotgun in the pic with this tom. It was killed with the same 20 gauge.

Been waiting for my LGS to get one in stock…or Academy. I’ve heard they carry them.

That gun is on my top 3 list for new turkey gun. How’s the recoil and POI been for you?

I’d really like to get one in 12 gauge since I have a doomsday supply of shells, but curious how it feels when a 3” longbeard comes out the business end on such a light boom stick.

That's a great bird and a great gun. I saw a very nice, very clean Savage like yours at Green Top Hunt and Fish in Richmond a few weeks ago. It had a price tag on it well over $500. I passed it up. But it sold while I was there.

Not sure what combos they came in, but a .22 Hornet over 20 gauge would be incredible.

May as well throw another shrimp on the barbie...from this morning.
Same 'ol 20 gauge with #6 pheasant loads. Browning Golden Pheasant, I believe.
40 or so yards. Not a clue on the choke. No drama.

New ATI Turkey Fowl 20 gauge. Love this gun!

Put a Vortex Venom on a Monstrum rib mount. Gun is drilled and tapped with Mossberg 500 screw spacing. Works great but the Monstrum mount proved to be a challenge. Screws supplied were not correct and the screw holes had to be drilled and tapped. With a little work it turned out to be a solid, good looking mount.

Top barrel with a .575 Carlson Choke. Bottom barrel with the factory full choke. Plan was to shoot Federal #9 TSS in top barrel and Fiocchi Golden Pheasant #6 in bottom barrel. Plan worked to perfection. I gave this bird a face full of #6 shot at 15 yards.

Gun is a joy to carry and shoot. Both barrels shoot to POA.
