There are others that are leaving the Chicago area because of losses or the environment that people don't want to work in Chicago.

Yeah I’m sure it’s theft. They don’t wanna rock that boat. The door greeters I see just stare up at the ceiling when people are leaving.

Eh, WalMart opens and closes stores all the time, not just in liberal [bleep]. They run tight margins as the Walton family enjoys being filthy rich. They just closed a fairly new store here in the same town as the home office. Stores that don't perform to standard don't stay in business long.

They will never say it was caused by too many "locals" stealing, because the mob will attack on social media, but everybody knows.

I've never heard of a Walmart closing unless they are just moving the store to a better location in the same town.

Close all the time. You probably don't here about it that much. I live in the home of WalMart and everything they do is news around here as that's what drives this booming economy.
They've already announced about 15 closures for 2023 and I'm sure more to come, as well as laying off at distribution centers.

Maybe a company looking after its shareholders?

I'd bet the "locals" aren't stealing any more than the employees - Walmart calls it "internal loss".
Here locally it's been a problem since they opened. They seem not to ever fire anyone over it, though.

The usual suspects will be on the news shortly to label this move 'white supremacy', 'white oppression', 'corporate systemic racism', or some other combination of lies.

this has always happened .(COMPARISON) in West Virginia ,in a town on one side of county with 20,000people. they built a dept store like the old walmart (no food) in the black area of town ,this about 1972. everyone in county went here ,parking lot always full. about 10-13 years later it closed .asked a worker there he said a certian segment of the population(Blacks) shoplifted to much the theftwas more than the proffets could overcome. so they closed it
........In same time period .mid 1970's that same company built anther store at other end of county in small town of about 1,500 -2,000 people .98% white people .only seen 3 black kids in whole time i went to high school there ,and never seen blacks in town or on street at all till late 2000's. that store stayed open till mid 90's when that whole chain went out of bussness ...think about it a store stays open in a very small town ,but the busier store in a bigger city they shut down due to theft 10-15 years ealier
