He's looking at 10 years and 10K per count. With 20 participants on the server, that's 200 years and $200,000 per document.

Read a article on this the other day that showed where these 'top secret' documents have bounced around the gaming community for quite a while, they made their way through the 4Chan forums and Reddit forum boards as well.
Seems it's more of a embarrassment than anything.

Seems it's more of a embarrassment than anything. When the govt’s MO is to screw its citizens everything has to be top secret. Most Americans don’t bow to distant totalitarian bureaucrats making decisions about things like, say, what books should be in their libraries. …for example…

Scapegoat.
Sacrificial lamb.
A young member of our military is being railroaded to save the necks of corrupt traitors.
How can anyone believe any of this?

So, what are they trying to deflect attention away from this time? Seems like something big is coming up? Maybe they found out it was Biden that pushed McConnel down the stairs? Maybe Kamala is having reassignment surgery so she will be a better candidate for President next year? So many theories, so little time....

A BBC broadcast depicted this guy as a gamer who shared this with some friends.
They certainly appeared to downplay this as nothing more than a mistake and was not an attempt at intentionally leaking this information to subvert the USA's war in Ukraine.

How can anyone believe any of this? Having once been a young service member in the same community and serving with others - it's 100% believable he's not a patsy and he did this on his own etc. I believe 10000% he would do such a thing because it happens.

Pretty much any DOD enlistee needs at least secret just to get in. Depending on their job they’re sometimes retained if they lose it. The most common reason for losing it is [bleep] credit. You’d be surprised how many people are required to have a TS. Even some of the lowest ranking ones. It pretty surprising he could just walk out of a skif with TS material

In some of the larger one's with a high volume of workers, it's easier than you think.

How can anyone believe any of this? Not hard to believe at all. Talking crap in gaming forum to impress his buddies/followers. Someone upped the ante and posted elsewhere. His job specialty requires TS. Duties in intel unit probably require SCI access.

Seems it's more of a embarrassment than anything. You can kill dozens of children with drone mistakes and not lose your job. This kid embarrassed the dep state and will punish him even though there was nothing in these documents that was critical to our security

Pretty hard to keep secrets in the digital age. A large part of that is due to people evolving into blabbermouths since it's so easy to seemingly be the "hero" to the masses with a few clicks. Combined with "it's all about me" mentality and you have a very dangerous combination. Has become accepted cultural norms I'm afraid. A whole generation has grown up with a clicker in their hands. Might as well be attached to claymores for the damage that can be caused with no forethought.
