I have never seen a LYMAN 56W71 sight that was produced for the Winchester 71 and was wondering if anyone might have one. If you do could you be so kind as to post clear closeup pictures showing all areas of it especially the markings or stampings. Much appreciated

PoconoJack not sure where you see a Lyman 56W71, there is nothing I can find/see that indicates a 56W71 sight. If you can find it please post the web address. All the sights I see are 56A , some have target knobs and some the coin slot screws
So still in need of pictures of a 56W71 sight Thanks

It’s Completed Auction #364079731436 and listed as Vintage Lyman 56 for Winchester Model 71 Receiver Sight. Sorry, but posting link to a web address with an iPad is well above my pay grade.

Sorry but that is a 56A. If you blow up the pictures you can see the A stamp on the front of the windage bar

Guess I am not the only one who has never seen a Lyman 56W71
If anyone can post clear closeup pictures of one, especially of the markings please do.

I have had a lot of models 71s and looked at many more. The only Lyman 56s I've ever seen on them has been the 56A.
I know Bert Hartman has a Collector's Association survey going and I believe he has more info on which sights he's found

Levers thanks. I had actually sent Bert a message and the only picture he had was a picture of the left side of the receiver and there is no way to identify it for sure as a 56w71. He did say the sight should be marked on the rear facing flat section of the sight. That was in mid Feb., He had no other pictures but thought he may be able to get some but as yet no word. That is why I figured I would reach out here. I myself have looked at hundreds of internet pictures of 56 sights and inspected at least a hundred 71s over the years in person and have never seen one. Again thanks
