Today I made an agreement to lease some land for grazing cattle. I started cleaning it up to repair fences.

Among other things, I made the opportunity to play with my 30 WCF Hammer Double Rifle

On the way in I had it drilled/tapped and a Pic Rail installed for using an RMR

[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]

Took the Pic Rail off today and tried the fixed iron sights.........

Had one new box of 150's and two ancient boxes of 170's

@50 yds.

Results holding the bead at the very nadir of the "V" fixed sights.

Will try using an RMR next outing.

ya!

I put the tub on my frame and helped my brother tear apart his rear axle out of his FJ40 Land Cruiser. Waiting on a couple of items and we will put it back together with an added Aussie locker.

Put down some grass seed and waiting for my wife and kids to get home and then grocery shopping. Killing time on the fire in the meantime.

Took a drive in the boonies this morning so I could stop my '09 Tacoma and photograph my odometer when it hit exactly 300,000 miles. Then took a couple pictures of the truck just for grins. It still runs great but I'm starting to think about its replacement. Been saving for it ever since I got this one at the end of Aug. in 2008 so money isn't a problem. If this web site wasn't such a PITA ( for dinosaurs like me) to post photos on I'd put up a picture.

Warmed up the head job on a 327 to do some final adjustment on rockers; installed the edging on a newly built round tabletop for the patio (wow - the glue that came on that edge product is thick and tough); worked up a test load for the recently re-done .338/.375 and will test fire later - not sure I can still tolerate that punch; started writing an arrangement of some music for church organ and EWI; wife and I will have a nice dinner with two lovely friends at about 6pm.

Drove home after spending four days with my son, DIL and grandson. Just returned from picking up the pups from the kennel.

My 05 is just about there. I bought it 11 years ago and it’s still going strong. My son pictured with our dog will be 20 in a few days. I’m thinking about something newer but will probably keep on driving it. I love not having a truck payment and all the money that it frees up. I’m not a brand loyalty guy but it’s been hands down the most trouble free truck that I’ve owned. [Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]
