Seems like Winchester Longbeard XR and TSS is all the rage and what I typically use myself. I found some Federal Premium Grand Slam, 12 gauge, 3", 1 3/4 oz, #4, 10 round box, on clearance at an LGS for $14.99 per box. That was $10 off normal price. It's got the flight control wad. All the #5 and #6 was gone. I picked up two boxes. I'm going to pattern is against 3" Longbeard XR and see how it does. In the meantime, wanted to ask if anyone has used it and what the result were. I usually hunt with #5 shot.

I like the concept, but I'm required to shoot non-toxic for federal land.

I suspect would be better than hevi-shot

Other than that, How was the show Mrs. Lincoln?

I don't know anything about them, but would like to know the results of your test. Just for the record, my money is on the LB's.

I may not be smart but I can lift heavy objects

I have a shotgun so I have no need for a 30-06.....

I shoot the Federal, but in 20ga #5. 176-180 pellets in a 10” circle at 24 yards. The Win LB XR 20ga #5 gives me 115-120 pellets at the same distance.

I've looked at some pattern comparisons on Old Gobbler and some other places and the Grand Slam seems to do well in comparison. The only issue I'll run into is that I have no 3" LB XR in #4, just #5 and #6. My Grand Slam is #4.
