For sale is a Remington 788 in 6MM Rem caliber. I picked it up about 15 years ago, developed a good load for it and basically, the only action it has seen in that period is sighting in at the range each year. My son did bag a nice buck with it 10 years ago. Based on the "RZ" barrel code, this rifle was manufactured in November, 1975.
The rifle is in very good condition overall. The metal is clean and rust-free inside and outside the stock. The bore/rifling is strong, clean and shiny. The wood shows a few minor scuff marks on the left side and bottom, none of which go past the finish into the wood. There is a minor chip on the toe where the wood meets the butt plate. The right side of the stock is quite clean. Sling swivels were in place when I got it. Trigger pull is around 4-1/2#. I installed an EGW picatinny base. Original 6MM Rem magazine included. Sights are absent; screw holes have filler screws.
It is a very good shooting rifle -- easily sub-MOA with my loads. I never shot any factory loads through it, but would expect very good results as most, if not all, 788's are shooters.
I have 30+ photos available via email -- PM your email address and I will be happy to send them. I would be happy to talk about the rifle if you have questions -- PM your phone number.
