Any one have news regarding their entry requirements? I have a friend (not vaxxed) trying to book a ticket and the airline won’t sell him one without a vax.

All the info I’ve found online says you just need a negative test taken not more than 72 hours ahead of arrival.

ALL Covid travel restrictions into, within and transiting thru RSA either by air or overland boarder crossings, were dropped middle of last year (2022) unless they have been re-issued recently without any public notice.

What airline? I've personally purchased 4x r/t tickets on Delta to RSA and then SA Airlink into Bots for the end of this Aug. No problem and no Covid restrictions or testing requirements. Bought them this Feb.

I see you're maybe from Canada? - Could be one of Turdhoe's deals but, almost 100% certain it's not on the RSA's side.

Also flew into Germany and Austria and Albania over this past New Years with no Covid restrictions whatsoever.

Edited to Add: Just had a thought...could it be that Canada still requires proof of Covid Shots or test to enter Canada. If so, then the airline's restriction is not about entering RSA but, Canada on the way home.

Qatar Airways wasn't requiring proof of covid vaccinations or covid testing last September.

Canada doesn’t require any covid info or testing either now. I got tickets to RSA on Delta and airlink as well and not one vaccine question.
