What do real rugged Alaskan hunters like for a "bad-ass" ATV trailer hitch system..???

And WHAT to avoid, that does not work.

ALASKA is a "HARD COUNTRY for OLDMEN". (But if you live it wide'ass open, balls'to the wall, the pedal floored, full throttle, it is a delightful place, to finally just sit-back and savor those memories while sipping Tequila).

My Rancher has a 2" ball on a flat plate mount. When I was looking at a 450 Yamaha they had a receiver tube. What do can ams come with a plate or a tube?..mb

Most smaller trailers take a 1 7/8 ball which is totally sufficient.
Nothing wrong with 2 inch if your small trailers are equipped with a 2 inch receiver.

I always thought it made sense to have a trailer big enough to haul an ATV but small enough to pull behind it. Anybody doing this now?

That trailer of Hanco's looks handy around a guys place but I am thinking more on the line of one you could pull in places you need the atv for hauling a small camp outfit or a dead animal in.

I haul my Yamaha on a 4' x 8' utility trailer and then use the trailer behind the atv when needed. Works good for me.

The question is not relevant to TEXAS or KANSAS. They do not have the same rugged "TERRAIN" as ALASKA.

The question is Reference off trail hunting in the most God Awful super rugged wilderness, hauling heavy loads of meat, WHAT is the best hitch system. Anything will work on the paved road system for getting the mail. But my goal is to have this set-up for some (as yet unknown) serious Alaskan hunter.

Not taking sides but I understand exactly what AGL wants. Same here I can haul my atv in the back of my f-150 (8') box and still pull my 22' rv. Or if I want to use it my my utility trailer will haul the atv. After seeing Swamplords dead moose pack out of a bull and Mart's cow the use of a rugged behind the atv trailer only makes sense, kinda like a winch don't need it till you do...mb

Had you possessed the fundamental intelligence to "READ" and comprehend the original post, that would have helped.

There is some pretty rough terrain here in Texas and I haven't hauled much stuff on paved roads. I hope you get to feeling better in a few days.

It would only take three seconds if you were in my yard, and we were face to face, I would feel wonderful. Having put some Alaskan "Woop'ass" on a snot'nosed brat from a little tiny state less than half to size of majestic ALASKA.

The areas I hunt for moose are places where no one wants to go, towing an empty trailer in is a nightmare & towing a full one out is impossible, you'll spoil the meat before you get that trailer out
