I got drawn for bow deer in January and javelina in February and March. I didn't get drawn for an elk tag this year here in New Mexico.

After all my previous years of not drawing and seeing 400 new cow tags available in unit 34, yet not a one of them for NR's, I hung my hat up on putting in for the NM draw (this year anyway).
I'll try to draw for one of the few available Kansas elk tags...figure it is about the same odds without 'donating' money to an out of state general hunting license.

Nothing again for me.
Guess I will get my $8K back, minus ~$200 for the license, app fees and credit card interest.

This was the year to apply for muzzleloader hunts, since they banned scopes. We drew m/l elk in Unit 2. Should have left our deer app the way it was with all m/l hunts, but we changed it to all rifle and struck out.

Going to be interesting to see in a couple years how the odds shake out on ML hunts. Nothing but a late bull hunt for me.

Cow for me. Oryx and antelope for my wife.
Scott, they drew another desert right next to me, feller I work with drew the peloncillos. Back to back with an OIL ibex last year. Can’t believe it. I cussed him pretty good and he just smiled and laughed!

I drew an October Barbary Sheep tag for units 32, 36 & 37. Any suggestions on areas to focus on would be appreciated.
I hunt DIY on public land and not afraid to put some miles on foot.
Thanks in advance.

36 Elk muzzleloader for me. Time to take the scope off and install the peeps. My dad and niece struck out . Now it’s back on the quest for my first bull.
