Have one of these is average condition I traded for just to see how I liked it. Like the shooting, hate the cleaning. Now I'm looking to sell and don't really know what to ask. Have been looking for $200 out of it but hi offer has been $150. Am I out of the ballpark on this? Normally I look at closed auctions to find out what somethings worth but there's not enough of these being sold to tell. Thanks for comments.

I wouldn't take $200.00 for my GPR, however, it's a 54 caliber rifle...!

No, by no means are you out of the ball park, assuming "average condition" means just that, and the barrel and lock are in good shape and working properly.

IMHO, the GPR is still one of the better guns for the money.

Russ...

The Lyman Great Plains rifle was one of the few rifles that came somewhat close to the lines of the Sam Hawkin rifle...more so than the T/C Hawkin.

The price assuming the metal work is in above averge or excellent condition should average about $200.00.

In my own area when the shooters/hunters were converting from the side-lock rifles to the in-lines they attempted to get $250.00+ for the T/C hawkins but real value was $100.00 to $200.00 depending on rifle style and condition.

$200 is a fair price IF it is good shape. Like no rust inside or out, bluing not worn off and stock not all scratched and dinged up.

Don't know why it is "easier" to disassemble an in-line to clean it than it is to clean a sidelock ML. I can clean my .50 and .54 GPR's in less than 10 minutes (that's for both, not 10 minutes each) and don't have to take anything apart.

i picked up a brand me GPR .54 Flintlock kit for $300 shipped. I sold a tc renegade some years back for $250. So 200 would be about right imo.

Thanks for the input. For right now "it don't eat nothing" as a friend says. I'll hold on to it till I get my tradin' money back. Thanks.
