I know there are those here who have either a loved one presently who has Alzheimer's dementia or have lost a loved one to the terrible disorder. (My wife died of complications of Alzheimer's dementia three years ago.) This article is very interesting, going into results of genetic testing, the research and studies, etc., etc. There is no cure but the drug companies and researchers are trying to find a cure, and/or a preventive drug. https://news.yahoo.com/totally-back...5r1n6KnaAFa159f5c3ErGWjdHOT3qxge2Csi2Eo3If you're interested, read this article. There will be no cure. For this, cancer, diabetes, anything. Only customers for big pharma.

I am facing it with my wife. Her memory issues continue to get a more noticeable every few months. We’ve tried the three most common meds and she had sever reactions to all of them.
We take it a day at a time. She still knows everyone. Can’t always recall their names at first but she knows the person.
Chronographs, bore scopes and pattern boards have broke a lot of hearts.

Senile dementia and Alzheimer's are somewhat different diseases, but the only way to tell which is which in with an autopsy. My mother, and my mother-in-law both had serious mental declines later in life, but the MIL turned into a mean, vindictive beeyotch. Mom was just a sweet old lady who couldn't remember much of anything. Neither situation was easy to deal with.

Terrible way to go I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy, although the folks in big pharma might have it coming?

I always thought that getting old and losing my marbles would be the worst thing. Now, watching my mother suffer through a plethora of physical pains, ailments and indignities combined with lack of mobility, but at 94 with all her marbles, I'm not sure if it really matters how you get old. None of the options are particularly appealing, short of being shot to death by a jealous husband at 96.....

Thank You for the link!
Very sorry to hear about your wife’s passing! I also have strong feelings for anyone that is or have family or friends dealing with this. A truly insidious disease…..one of my greatest fears! memtb
