The desert is a true treasure for him who seeks refuge from men and the evil of men. In it is contentment In it is death and all you seek (Quoted from "The Bleeding of the Stone" Ibrahim Al-Koni)
Dang! I liked his writings growing up. Still remember him writing about when he was a kid. His Dad getting a 1022 from Bill ruger, and he shot it so much, the receiver cracked. And burning up a crate of 45acp surplus through a convertible Blackhawk along the base of the Florida mountains in NM. At least I think that was Barts stories.
Is that the Skelton who worked for my bud Mike Harrison as Ranch Mgr Anderson and Dixieland Ranches where i hunt out west of Kermit and Mentone for years until he retired and lived out on the Dixieland north of Pecos?
If so, i knew his son, Skeeters grandson, who was the Mgr until a couple of years ago.

Ecc 10:2 The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but that of a fool to the left.

I also enjoyed his stories in various publications. I don't remember what type of lawman he was. Seems like he may have been a federal marshal once, but I'm not positive about that.

Figures don't lie, But Liars figure Assumption is the mother of mistakes
Sorry to hear of Bart's death. Bart and Skeeter were good, interesting story tellers. I have Skeeter Skelton's last book, unread, still in the original shipping sleeve, for sale. I have most of Skeeter's Shooting Magazine articles so do not need the book. Ordered it before Skeeter died. I want $90.00 plus $10.00 for shipping, USPO MO.
PM me if you're interested.
