I’ve got an early, ‘stealth’ stainless/synthetic/ADL Mountain rifle (by barrel contour) 700 in 270. I’ve had it to put into a Brown Precision stock I ran across, but leaning more to short barrel, suppressor rigs lately. Mulled over selling it, but not sure what fair going rate is, and it’s hard to find anything very similar to gauge by. I’d like to sell it as a package, with original early synthetic stock, unfinished Brown, and maybe some ammo. I’ve got almost two cases of the same lots of Remington premier trophy bonded bear claw 140s and accutip 130s. May also let it sit. Just be good to know what it’s worth. Guesstimates?

I’ll check serial, take pics, etc this evening. Thinking it’s a ‘93? model. Decent factory synthetic for a plastic-ish iteration. The Brown stock is un-bedded/unfinished. I think I have a rough carbelite stock laying around also….for $75, I’ll throw that one away. Lol
I’m not set on parting with it, but it just sits as it is.

I’m not set on parting with it, but it just sits as it is. That would be consistent. They were catalogued in ‘93; every one that I’ve come across has had an M barrel code - so actually made in ‘92.

Serial is S620xxxx? ‘98 gun? Crown is right at .550”+/-. Weights with mounts is 6#14oz Not sure 100% on the ‘Brown’….what I was told. It’s not a ‘pounder, though a good bit lighter than the factory stock. Factory stock is also stamped LAMT in barrel channel.

‘92, all original, factory stock is correct, brown is correct.
Nice. Please put me in line if you decide to split off the brown.

The Brown looks a bit more open in the barrel channel than the Mountain Rifle barrel channel.. looks more like a sporter channel.

It’s .25” difference, and the factory is pretty tight to the tube….might not be a bad thing, and I wouldn’t think .125” gap would look out of place? Might full length bed like a NULA, anyway? ….if I keep and fit it up.

Was thinking it would go great with a Rem 700 with Std barrel contour. Brown gets $430 for those now, unfinished.

Well, I had considered going with an even lighter stock, or just hunting it like it is. Not sure I want to cut and thread, since it’s a ‘92 gun….some nostalgia there for me.

What is the weight on the blank? What is the weight difference between a mountain rifle and standard stainless synthetic sporter from that time frame? Thanks

Nice. Please put me in line if you decide to split off the brown. Put me in that line behind AKwolverine. I've got a Mountain Rifle sitting in a factory Bell & Carlson stock, I'd like to swap out.

I had one just like it in 25-06 that one of the fire members from Oregon I believe bought from me. I'm sure yours is worth much more today than when I sold mine.

Bb I think that was me?? I did buy a 25-06 that I was planning on turning into a "faux Ti". I sent the bolt off to Kampfeld for his Ti flute and then tried to find a 1st Gen Ti take off but at the time they where impossible to find. Ended up selling it to someone else on the "fire". Still miss that rifle.
