Does anyone know if the currently offered McMillan Varminter is the same stock as the McMillan Sako Varminter? Last question, who can inlet a McMillan flat top for a Sako small action, like the S491? TIA

My son had this Mcmillan Ledgend stock inletted by Doug at Saint Arbor Customs (623) 296-4017
He had worked for Mcmillan and is now on his own I think.

TIA They are virtually identical. Years ago, McMillan used the Sako Varmint pattern and inletted it for many actions. Some of the inlets left a bit to be desired so Dick Davis had another mold made thar better accommodates those inlets. That's why you see the two patterns...for a better finished product.

[Linked Image from i.imgur.com] This is the guy McMillan suggests sending their flat top Sako's too. Problem is, once you buy the flat top and pay to have it inletted you will have spent almost twice what the McMillan's used to cost.
