The problem with living in a state like California is - if you shoot someone in self defense some [bleep] is either going to prosecute you for being an evil gun owner and or you are going to get sued. It’s all about financial self preservation.

In 80% of California likelihood is very high that you are going to be arrested and you life is going to be made a misery. 100% chance the family of the deceased are going to sue.

25+ years ago when I took the Texas CHL, the instructor said you should 100% plan on needing an attorney if you use your gun in legal defense.

I've heard of some of those companies voiding your coverage if you are charged with a crime...
Isn't that exactly why you'd want that insurance?

Yeah, I've got US Law Shield. You can buy the basic plan for just your state and then you can add on other stuff like all 50 states, hunting accidents, and your family including kids. I just spent two months messing around with State Farm on a broken waterline/flooding issue. They finally paid the claim. I can’t imagine having to deal with then or their like for a firearms claim. Remember, the adjuster’s job it to settle a claim for the very least amount possible and use every means to get out of it. The clause “used illegally” would weigh heavily in any gun related case.
