Late next June I will be heading to Alaska for grizzly. I want the "mount" to be performed in and around north Idaho. I am looking for a recommendation within a couple of hundred mile of Sandpoint. Appreciated.

Wildlife Creations in Hayden does great bears. They did a life size bear for us and several other animals.

There are plenty of good taxidermists in the northern Rockies, and plenty of bad ones.
Game Trails Taxidermy out of Florence Montana has (or had, at least) the contract with RMEF to do all their taxidermy work. There is a reason for that.

Game Trails Taxidermy out of Florence Montana has (or had, at least) the contract with RMEF to do all their taxidermy work. There is a reason for that. Precisely why I am asking. I would have gone through the trouble of getting to Abilene (Jerry Huffaker) but he has retired. He did an outstanding job on my Zim critters.

Miles have never stopped me from seeking the best. You're going to live with the mount for the rest of your life. There are few things worse that having to apologize for bad taxidermy when it is a trophy that you bled out your guts for. I've spent decades researching these things. I've used Phil Soucy in Libby Montana for decades. One of the world's finest taxidermists.
