I'm down south of there by a couple hours, west of Eugene. If you shot it, you'd want one... I think. It's really very pleasant to shoot... in a magnum sort of way!

Ditto Big Time!!! I love my 325WSM and it will be my "Meat in the Pot" for decades to come.

When I load it up with 220's and the right load....it is totally deadly! My last trip to the range, i got .75" on five rounds.

Love my gun and love this load.

As far as brass goes.....I am stocking up on brass (I reload) and if I run out...I will resize 300WSM, which will be around for a long time.

I tried some 220's in my Kimber 8400 the other day and wow! A real noticable jump in recoil.

Which 220 are you using, WHunter?

I just loaded up some screamin' fast 180-TSX loads to try. I have not yet settled on a load. It'll be the 200 NP, 200 TSX, or 180 TSX most likely. I have found the 175-gn Sierra to be great for cheap, low-recoil pracicing.

Near- .338 Win mag power and ballistics in a short, handy, 6.2-lb rifle with manageable recoil. That's what I have in my safe anyway.

Next! :-)

Oh, 17 Ackly, I agree that it's probably not going to be a long-term "hit" cartridge.

My prediction for the 325WSM is one day in the not so distant future Remington will pick it for a thier "Classic" rifle for that year. Of coarse you know what has to happen before it becomes a "classic" eek

Oh the pain of it all.

I kind of doubt that Big Green will chamber rifles in it, because then they would have to make ammo for it... but I could be wrong! They do chamber 300 WSM.

I think it's a very cool caliber, and I own two of 'em, but I don't see it as a long-term success story in the world of cartridges. It'll just be gun nuts/handloaders messing with it. 300 WSM, however, is here to stay- and deservadly so. IMHO.

The future of the .325 WSM? I'm guessing it isn't very bright.

As a potent, accurate, reasonable-recoil round... I think it's future is very bright.

As a commercial success, I probably agree with your assessment...

Ah well,
I guess I will keep stocking up on 325 brass and bullets.

As one of the 'Unwashed' I enjoy playing with oddball calibers.

I think that most of the people predicting the demise of the 325 WSM are the same people that said all the WSM's would be failures. They are wrong, the WSM's have been outstanding sales successes and will continue to be so.
The 325 is not going to be the bestseller of the bunch but with the high sales figures of the other WSM's there are going to be enough shooters that want a WSM but not the same one that everyone else shoots who will pick the 325.
The 325's long term potential will be something like that of the 280 Remington. The 280 will never be as popular as the 270 or 30-06 but it's good enough in it's own right to have stayed around for a lot longer than most of it's critics predictions, so will the 325...................DJ

... as long as 300 WSM sticks around, and it's gonna, then .325 WSM guys will always have brass in one easy stroke of the press... besides that, Winchester is pretty good about at least doing runs of obscure brass annually, like .358 Win.

I wonder what the sales figures are for .325 WSM? We have what, Browning, Kimber, Nosler, Winchester (RIP), and... Savage (maybe?) chambering for it.

Us discerning WSM users (ahem) will just be smiling all the way to the downed animal and loving our .325's. :-)

Personally speaking, if I want to go bigger than 30 caliber, I want to go quite a bit bigger and since 220 grain bullets are common for the 30's - I want to go to 250's or bigger.

I'd like to see Winchester offer their new Model 70 in a 9.3 short magnum - it should be able to push a 250 grain around 2700 to 2800 and a 286 out at around 2600 to 2700.

Now that would be a great "just under a .375" round for those of us who hunt big North American game - but who aren't going to Africa.

But that's probably just me.

I like that idea!

Too practical to happen though. You'll have to wildcat it!
