I've had the parts for this sitting around since forever. Finally shipped em all off to Shaen to have him do his thing. As usual his work looks great. Defiance AnTi Bart 1-8" CF Rem Varm at 20" Hawkins DBM Hawkins rings TT Diamond LRHS 3-12 Should kick a bit with 180 ELD's. I have always been a 7mm-08 fan. The cartridge has performed flawlessly on WT for me. I shoot many other cartridges but compare all to the 7mm-08 for WT deer needs. I want to put together a 20” barreled rifle to run suppressed as a main deer setup. I was leaning hard towards a 6.5 PRC but your build setup just flipped me back! Awesome setup and congrats.

Very cool Higginez. Looking forward to an update on groups and velocity with your 180 load.

From the hip,I'm thinking said Plumber has only worked on (5) of my .284's. The "odds" should make you warm/fuzzy. Hint.
ALL of which were expressly geared to 180's. Hint................

Chopped a 700 SS BDL and a 700V-BDL both to 21".......speeds using 100-140s were fine for my needs, though blast was 'enhanced' as well.
I can say a 20.5" LV contour, fluted by Karl K. handles great......blast in the 6.5x47 mild.
Look forward to reports. Enjoy your new rifle.

I've never bought/built a 7-08 longer than 26",nor shorter than 14"(XP-100) and would never go longer than 22" again. 180's are "blast" friendly, simply because they eat less propellant. Hint................

Will 180 hybrids work well in an AI mag?

Of course, though they are a poor choice in comparison. They tend to run .010" shorter in gross length, than a 180 ELD. The 180 Booger Highbird wears a .680 BC,while the 180 ELD is .796. Hint................

What speed are you getting out of the ELDs and 7mm-08? I want to see what I should expect to 600 yards with a 20” bbl.

2600fps is a breeze. Hint............. Which would be supersonic to around 1,500 yards if anyone was wondering.

Finally getting a chance to mess with this. Props to Shaen on the throating. He also milled the action so these would feed. Love that I can just send him stuff and trust he knows what I am trying to do. He loves CF bbl's too. LOL
