I've got SN G17624xx. Trying to find mfg. date.
Is there a source for serial numbers for M70s post 1964 on the internet somewhere?

Thanks guys,
Fenton

Roger Rule and his landmark publication "The Rifleman's Rifle".

I did call Winchester. Got a guy in service. Took the guy 8 minutes to find a date for one rifle, could not find the date for this one G1762463.
And I did find the records from 1935 - 1992 that "rte" provided, but nothing else.

If I had Roger Rule's book, maybe serial numbers are in there? But I don't have his book. His website provided no serial number info that I could find.

Still, I'd think there must be SN info somewhere?

I see my serial number is included on the info “rte” provided, making it a 1985 mfg. date.
Still wish I could find access to serial numbers after 1992.
Thanks…
