My in-laws fed Holstein steers, some made Prime grade. I've bought a couple of Holstein halves and nothing at all wrong with them. Last two beef halves were a Murray Grey and a Red Baldy. On the grill or in the crock pot it's all good.

There are huge feedlots that specialize in feeding out Holstein steers.... a large portion of beef in the stores is Holstein.... takes a little longer than conventional beef breeds and a different ration but still GREAT beef.

River bottom cows this morning. We really need to start getting cows outta here and onto summer grass! Tomorrow I'm gonna steal a guy from my super farmer buddy and he's gonna come over and help brand our two year old's calves.
