Anyone have a 929? Always wanted one for some reason but most I see looks like it was used for a boat anchor or to drive fence staples. Shop near me has one that looks new 6" barrel ,box for $140. Cheap enough these days. I don't need it but I do like 22s

Used to have one I bought new Hilluva good peestolla for what it was. Stolen some years ago and never recovered. Good with the shotshells for serpents too. Put a whole lot of shells through it with no ill effects. Everybody hated em, and tried to compare against a Colt or S&W
Always wanted another, but you know what happened to H&R

$140 is a deal.
They were decent guns, made of good materials. No, they weren’t smooth, but they were reliable.
They were neat guns, back when avg price was $100-$200. These days, many are trying to get $350 plus for them, and they’re just not smooth enough or collectible enough to justify that.
At $140, you’ll be lucky if it’s still there, tomorrow…

Grandma kept one loaded with shot to kill snakes in the chicken house and root cellar. I shot some pigeons roosting in the barn with it. For that priced I’d grab it in a second with no misconceptions about what it is.

Ask yourself "What can be bought for only $140 these days?" I don't care for those revolvers even a little bit, but I would've bought it and smiled the whole way home.

Y'all are right. Didn't get back there yesterday and today isn't looking good either. I called and told him to hold it until Monday for me.

Picked up these two today at the local gunshow. Both 9 shot pistols. A 1950 Sportsman top break and the 904 is one of their 80’s target models. Both shoot damn well. T4

T4 Looks like they are in excellent condition. The only ones I see nowadays look like they’ve been dragged behind some ole farmer’s pickup truck. Nice Find!!!

The 904 is very nice. The old Sportsman has some wear but hell, she’s almost 75yo.

Got the good grip on that sportsman. Mine has one more similar to the one on that 929, and I hate it.

I have a 4" 929 that I made some wood grips for. The original plastic grips were cracked. This is my trapping gun. I sold a 6" 929 as new for $230 about 5yrs ago to the first fellow trapper to look at it at rendezvous .

$140 newish with box is a bargain. I just inherited a 929 that has seen better days and I'm pretty sure I could get $140 for it as is, which is why I'm keeping it. It's sure better built than a Roughrider which is the only equivalentally priced new gun. I do miss my pre-999 Sportsman. That was a nice one.
