In central Ontario, we had a frost advisory last night, but the wild flowers in the garden didn't seem to care. The cowslips and forget-me-nots popped up a while back and were unaffected by the cool temperatures.
After the long winter, grey skies and white stuff, a lot of colour, courtesy of Mother Nature (with some help from the wife and me).
...
I figured it was time to add to the melange, so I dropped by the gardening centre for more colour.
These red and white petunias are for Canada Day and should completely fill out by then.
And some yellow begonias for the deck.
There are also beefsteak tomatoes going in this weekend. Some at the house. More at the trailer.
Nice looking spread! Relaxing way to spend time no doubt. I couldn't keep a garden going to save my life. The snazziest flowers we have are on the Mountain Ash tree in my front yard. It, along with the Wild Rose bush in the back were here when we bought the place 20+ years ago. Amazing that they still bloom! We go for drives out on the prairie and check out the cactus and other flowers when they bloom. Wild roses are another beautiful find. Of course, when I get the opportunity to head to the foothills, it is always nice to see the meadows in bloom. The outdoors just come to life, even when it is bone dry. Slightest bit of moisture is all they require. Jeff
Thanks Jeff. The outdoors is what it's all about. Most people are indoors too much, fussing over what they see on the news or their computers. You get a more balanced perspective spending time outside the four walls.
We have another frosty night and then the days start to warm, hopefully for the next few months.
Here's a couple of Alberta wild roses for those who haven't seen them.
Hey Steve, That is one of the best songs ever written/sang. Way too many folks don't get out enough. I laugh when I hear them talking about the Prairie and how flat and lifeless it is. Maybe from the highway but get out there, down some Range roads then get back to me! Gorgeous landscapes everywhere. Jeff (I need to learn how to post pics on here)
I have PMed the instructions for pics and videos. Give me a shout if you need any assistance. All the best.
Thanks Steve, Looks like I need to create an IMGUR acct to get started. Should be easy enough to do. I'll look deeper into it once I finish a couple articles that are due next week.....darn deadlines LOL All my photos are on either my computer or mem sticks. Jeff
