My local gun shop has a VERY clean but slightly odd looking/modern looking savage over under in caliber 22 Savage High-Power and 12 gauge.
If I recall correctly the price is $750.00 - no sales tax in Montana.
If anyone is interested the shops number is 406-683-9844 - Tuesday thru Saturday.
Let me know if I can be of any assistance.

It sounds like a very uncommon piece.

I didn't think that Savage cataloged anything in .22 HP after 1941 and that the only Savage rifles cataloged in .22 HP were the 1899/99 lever action series.

Savage did import some Valmet 412(?) combination guns for a short time, but I thought that they were all 12 over 308. Maybe it was something that was made for sale to U.S. military members who were serving in Europe and sold through the AFFES exchanges.

As they say, when it comes to Savage never say never.

It COULD be a Savage/Valmet 2400 with the .222 barrel rechambered to .22 HP. Why would anyone do that? Well, I've seen stranger--and even dumber--things....

Fireball2: The combo Rifle/shotgun I was posting about certainly looks like the one that YOU pictured.
I will have to make time today to get back to the Bitterroot Trading Post and verify the make and model of that unusual gun.
I know I had never seen a combo in 22 Savage High-Power before.
Am hosting out of staters til Friday/Saturday of this week but the intermittent thunder-storms have been interrupting our activities - so I will hopefully get into the shop today.
The shop was closed yesterday.
I am now beginning to think I jumped to conclusion in naming the combo gun a "savage" - basing that jump on the 22 savage High-Power caliber???

Luv2safari: I am going to double check today as soon as I can. My memory is that it looks almost exactly like the combo-gun that Fireball 2 posted.
Thanks for being patient.

JeffG: Indeed, I just got back from town and my local gunshop where I asked to inspect the combo gun in hand. Once down from the wall display the sales tag showed where I originally erred.
It is indeed a BRNO ZH305 with NO spacing between barrels - it is ribbed there and the gun is in EXCELLENT plus condition with an unknown brand scope base.
Sorry for any confusion I caused.
My initial mistake was viewing the tag from some distance.
The term "savage" was apart from the caliber designation 22 High-Power and 12 gauge.
Thus I mistakenly assumed savage made it - that was wrong.
More later out of state guests are now awake and need guiding/entertaining.

BRNO 305 are nice combo guns very solid and mine is extremely accurate. Scope base if original to fit rifle makes it desirable they re quite spendy to buy after market. If some one D&Td it for something like a Weaver base that is something that will devalue the BRNO some.

After the first shot the rest are just noise.
