I keep a sharpened hoe (the kind you garden with) in the garage for snakes.

I don't abide venomous serpents.
The old corn snakes etc, get a pass.

Found one on at a friends house just a few weeks ago. Was on the walkway going around his garage.

Damn things just don’t move out the way.

My wife was bitten by a copperhead last summer while working in one of her flower beds. Took her 6 months to recover fully. I see copperheads and cottonmouths weekly here on the farm. I kill them all but give all the non poisonus ones a pass.

My son was bitten by a great big rattlesnake in his sandbox when he was about 4 years old.
Long story short it was a dry bite.
Scary deal though...

What a bunch of BS. Just like the “experts” excusing shark attacks. It’s like we have to love every creature, even if it is a menace. Hey, you were in the water, they were hungry, and you looked like you might be tasty. Whoopsy!

Because most ER’s are reluctant and slower dispensing the Meds without 100% certainty of snake type, most call an reptile expert for insurance reasons. The father may also have killed him after picture was taken as well.
I’ve witnessed 2 bites to kids, one was 2 year(hand) and the other 10 or 11(heel) neither required any meds and know several families who had kids bitten, none requiring any meds. This child was allergic is just a guess.

Just guessing here but I’ve probably killed a hundred Copperhead, you just don’t know how they’re gonna react, mostly they seem shy and others go haywire when you’re getting close enough to kill. Biggest one I’ve killed is 3’ 6 inches, that’s a big boy down here.

I have only seen a couple copperheads around here in my whole life. Mostly just bull snakes and garter snakes in my immediate area. Plenty of rattlers out in the hills at the ranch, have to kill one from time to time.

My boy has some rattlesnake hides I tanned when I was a teenager he likes hanging in his bedroom. I’ve been wanting a pretty copperhead to tan with him and my supervisor apparently lives in an Earlybrd style copperhead hatchery. He’s on notice to call if he finds a big one with good markings and we’ll run up and collect him. But his eyes aren’t so great and he keeps shooting them full of holes and blowing them up. Maybe we’ll get a good one someday.

Whoever made this statement might have needed being bit. In my case the owner is a hell of a lot more trouble than any dog. Remember that.

We lost my sons dog to a rattlesnake about 11 years ago. Until that point I had always gave them a pass if they weren’t near the house but not anymore that all die now.

Will Munny: It's a hell of a thing, killing a man. Take away all he's got and all he's ever gonna have.

The Schofield Kid: Yeah, well, I guess they had it coming.

Will Munny: We all got it coming, kid.

Hope the little fella is feeling alright , that's some scary stuff for a parent to deal with..

My hearing is getting so bad I almost got bit by a rattler last year deer hunting. Walking along a small swale with my nephew and he alerted me to a rattler. I stopped to look and it was about 3 feet from me, rattling to beat the band, which I still couldn't hear very well. It finally got bored of us watching it and it crawled into its den under a rock. Only the second rattler I've ever seen in our deer hunting area in over 50 years of hunting there.
