Probably a hognosed snake, sometimes also called a spreading adder

No. Hognose snakes are widespread. Big difference in coloration between northern copperheads and southern.

Copperheads here are aggressive. I kill everyone I see. I am amazed my dog hasn't been killed. He has probably been bitten and now just waves it off. I don't know.

The copper heads I have been around run around just pissed off looking for something to bite.

Fugging garter snakes are about the same, always pissed.

Brown water snakes seem aggressive too. I kill all of those bastards I run on to.

We have a banded water snake that is said to be nonvenomous but he is seriously vicious and will bite. He is not a pit viper but bad reactions and swelling have been reported by some of the unlucky bitten folks.

I've seen hundreds of Rattlesnakes.
Probably killed a hundred or more.
I kill every single one around the house.
I don't kill them way out in the sticks.
But I do film them.

Venomous - DIES!
Non venomous get a pass and a quick blessing.

Nothing but rattlers around here - prairie and Western diamondbacks. Mostly prairie.
Not usual, but not real uncommon for a prairie to get aggressive, I've only had a few encounters with d-backs.

Don’t think I have to worry, only had garter snakes where I grew up, and now here in Kelowna BC have not seen any snakes at all around here.
Maybe around BC30cal’s place maybe, but around here we should be good.

Been seeing a big increase in coachwhips in our area over the last few years. Cool snakes and good to have around. Haven't seen anything venomous in awhile.
