Took in the first two episodes of Joe Pickett on Paramount on Prime tonight. Boy! He sure gets beat up a lot. Trying to ticket a couple off-gridders and interrupting a hunting protest got him knocked around a little.
I could wish a lot of things on my worst enemy but neuropathy ain't one of them.

I watched the first season and the first two episodes of season 2. Joe has to be the dumbest sumbitch around. If he doesn't learn a thing or two, his life expectancy is going to be pretty short.
Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.

S2 E3 and Joe is true to form. He gets his ass kicked again.

He's not Jack Reacker that's for sure. My wife likes this show. Probably because Pickett's wife seems to be the brains of the family.

Quit watching about a minute into the first episode when he walked up to the CGI elk.

Pure crap. Horrible piece of Hollywierd trash...Nate Romanowski(black ops burnout in the books) it turns out is of African descent...who knew? Former game warden Vern is another African fellow, and then one of the flaming queer townies was knitting in a cafe, a bow to the gay community, I won't go on, but other examples that the imaginary Saddlestring WY is one of the most diverse of American towns. Everyone expects movies to diverge from the books, but this is the crowning jewel of Hollywierd PC bullschidt. As Varmint Guy would say, hold into the agenda.
Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.

I've read them all - the last book is best used for starting the fire. The tv show took all of Box's character development and threw it out the window. I'm really surprised they didn't make Marybeth a dude. More garbage.

What J257 said.
We watched episode 8 of season 2 last night. They finally got around to turning it into the liberal s--t show they've been working up to. Basically a group of eight white male hunters thought to be upright citizens are all racists, drunks and rapists. Have been for years. There's some other unbelievable stuff thrown in as usual and Joe's wife saves the day.
We've read the Joe Pickett books and been to and through different parts of Wyoming over the years. The fictional town of Saddle String; Wyoming and a lot of the people on the show, in general don't resemble any places or people we've ever seen there.
I still think most of the books are good reads but the majority of this tv series plots and characters aren't the same as the books.
