I dropped by his shop this afternoon, it is 25 miles from my place. He is fluting the barrel of my tweaked NH 416 Rem M70 and cerakoting it matte black. A really nice guy with a really nice shop putting out really nice work. One area of his shop had multiple boxes on the floor with M700 clones filling them along with a barrel laying on each box with McM stocks stacked as well. I am looking forward to receiving my rifle come August.

Have had Karl do several jobs. Sent three barrels to be threaded and one to be fluted end of last year and i think i had them back in a week. Flawless work.
Nice guy to talk with in the phone too. 👍🏻

Of the rifles I currently own I doubt I could ever sell the one Karl built for me. In fact I think mine was one of the last ones he did when he still lived in Michigan. Its boringly accurate and its been my go to antelope rifle when I could still draw tags in Wyoming  Hard to see it but its in the picture in my moniker. I've had him do a bunch of various stuff over the years and its always been perfect and like several have mentioned he is just a great guy to work with. I'm about 7 hours from his shop and have been tempted to driver over just to get to finally meet him, he's got a really nice set-up at his place.

I'm bummed he moved out of Michigan before I got to meet him. He has done barrel and bolt fluting, along with Cerakote work for me. I've never had a complete rifle put together by one smith,until my last one. I sent him all the parts and he put it all together. He did an excellent job and it shoots as good as it looks !

You know, balance...

He has spent quite a bit of time on the phone with me, helping me diagnose a problem on a rifle that he had ZERO to do with.... he is a damn fine person.... the work I have had him do was boringly perfect. Just a good human being.
