Usually their Factory Seconds are priced about the same as Factory Firsts are elsewhere, but that's a decent price.

Some decent buys on other 2nds also. The 143 ELDX 6.5mm is about 50% off. Those have shot fine for me.
Now with even more aplomb

I've had great luck with nosler 2nds from sps but other 2nds from midway in particular have given me problems. I bought 105 amaxes from midway years ago that were barely 3 moa from a 243 custom brux 8 twist that's normally 1/2 or better. I called Hornady and they said that any lots that fail their accuracy requirements go to midway as seconds. They also said they are often mixed lots too. I only buy midway seconds for my handguns or other shorter range levers etc where I don't need moa.

I would not buy seconds from midway. Those are chidt bullets. I'm with the guy that said SPS had good seconds, but from what I've seen from midway, not so much. Those are really thirds or fourths.. However, if you are loading to plink and don't care about accuracy, buy them.
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

I bought some the 150's for close range woods hunting. As I have bought others that were just fine. I don't use seconds or thirds for long range anyway.

Jason My 150 grain bullets arrived today. I don't see any blemishes at all. I'll weigh and measure a few later.

I should get mine in the next couple of days. On another note, the 80gr 6mm Seconds I ordered came a few days ago....all but two of the boxes exploded in transport, so I had to find 300 bullets intermixed with the rest of my order. I'll give Midway credit on shipping speed, they are second to none...but they take literally zero time (or effort) ensuring things are actually packaged properly.

I checked several boxes absolutely no blemishes. Checked several weights on my beam scale, nothing varied much if any. I'd say these are a great deal.

As an aside, several years ago I bought a few hundred 150-grain flat-base pulled .284 bullets from Rocky Mountain Reloading. I asked which cartridge manufacturer they'd been pulled from and RMR said they were from Federal rounds. I assumed that they were probably a propriety Hot-Cores but have no way of knowing that for certain. It would be helpful if companies would identify the source of the "seconds" they sell, but for whatever reason most don't. Some are easy to identify - how many companies manufacture 154-grain .284 bullets? - but others, like 150-grain flat-base, are a bit more difficult to track down.

Bullet manufacturers don't want to be associated with any substandard bullet being sold as a second and advertised by their trade brand.

Factory Over-Runs are not the same as the Factory Blems right?

I have 1500 Midway seconds on hand, not counting several hundred already loaded.
They include: 6mm 80 gr flat base. These looked like crap when I opened the box. Little rings of lead at the ogive. But after easily wiping off the lead smears and rings, they look like any factory spitzer bullet. I am loading them in a 6mm Remington and an older 244.
6.5mm 120 gr jacketed HPBT These look just like I remember the Sierra MK from many years ago. But the only current SMK I have on the shelf has a longer boat tail. These look like they need a bath in hot soapy water. They are packed in a plastic bag, the plastic is dirty and grey inside. They look to be perfectly functional if cleaned a bit. They will probably be loaded for the new Reminton Magpul, with 8 inch twist and 5R barrel in 260.
7mm 139 gr black polymer tip boat tail. Perfectly fine condition. Could be a ballistic tip except for the cannalure. Fodder for 7-08s.
7mm 162 spbt. These look as good as any box of factory Hornady I have opened. I have used the 162 Hornady in the STW for twenty years.
7mm 150 gr polymer tip boat tail. I got these a few months ago, to load in the 7mm RM. They look fine, a short boat tail w/ green tip. Similar to a Nosler ballistic tip. Possibly built by Nosler for use by Remington. Possibly built by Sierra. Just guessing.
7mm 150 gr soft point flat base. They look fine. Just like any generic factory bullet. Two 7-08s in the safe. They usually get 140s, but that is the potential future use for these.
7mm 139 gr expanding polymer tip mono metal boat tail with two relief grooves cut into shank. They look absolutely perfect. Who knows? I might decide I need a warp speed load for the STW.
No, I have not taken any to the range yet. But I ain't skeered.
