Martens will keep your squirrels honest, but what are those 4 dogs good for if not to keep the yard safe?
You are close to the river - mink? Full disclosure- I haven't a clue.
If it is an ermine, you can probably smell it, especially if you get it excited. That one that got trapped in the Sterling School library some years ago wasn't easy to catch, and made it's displeasure known. I got it tho! Or maybe vice-versa....

Nothing that a #4 conibear wont fix.
What in the name of God is a "#4 Conibear"? There's 110, 120, 160, 220, 340, etc., but in 50 years of trapping, never heard tell of or reference to a "#4 Conibear"....
To the OP, weasel of some sort poop. In your area, there's several different "weasels"
Thinking Duke, wrote conibear, good catch though.

Put a pinch between your cheek and gum. Give it a couple of minutes, and it will come to you.

Nope, nope, nope. That squirrel came in way too hot and chute did not deploy. I'm telling you guys! Probably identifying as a wolverine, maybe a bear.

Well there was a Cardinal there on the ground pecking at what was left of my stuff when I arrived, so I just assumed.
Maybe my assumption wasn't exactly spot on.

First thought is squirrel, but some sections are pretty long.
Did you check for blood in that stool?
