These days if I’m shooting big and slow it’s either handgun stuff or deer hunting with my longbow. Giant Simmons broadheads on heavy arrows at 165fps is pretty big and slow I guess.

I prefer big and fast. I’ll be toting a CVA Scout 444 Marlin to the woods this fall. Shooting a 225 grain Bear Creek Ballistics Bullet with an average velocity of 2,680 fps. I recently bought a CVA Scout 45-70 hopefully I’ll get some loads worked up for it as well.

OK, not “Big &Slow”…..how about “Medium & Medium”!


375 AI with 280 grain cast…..only about 1400 fps. Great for plinking with my hunt’n rifle! 😉 memtb

The triggers on my muzzle loader, 44mags (rifle and pistol) and 45/70 are all amazing. Even more so considering the price point.
