Well for years my go to powder for my 257 Ackley, 25-06 and 270 was H450 but it’s gone so I guess I’m not contributing a thing here. Unless of course you find some on a dusty shelf

Any of you guys ever try a reduced load with an 80gr. TTSX? Found some cheap. Figured they would make some good deer and yote smackers.
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Thanks southtexas. I was thinking along those same lines. Probably more like 3400 fps in the 25-06 though. Going to start at minimum charge weight of H4831 and work up. Something I never do, but 3400 is pretty fast as is. Looking for something lighter in recoil for the girlfriend. Thanks..

37-38 grains 4895 was just fine for a new shooter.

Rick H450 is the ball equivalent of H4831, same for 785. Wouldn't doubt 450 and 785 are the same. I have both so I will have to look

Anyone use RE26 on 115 grain and heavier?
I prefer classic. Semper Fi I used to run with the hare. Now I'm envious of the tortoise and I do my own stunts but rarely intentionally

I load 49 grains of IMR 4350 with a 115 ballistic tip. They do nicely on pigs and deer.

Anyone use RE26 on 115 grain and heavier? I've never even seen any RE26 around here locally but always wanted to try it out. Re22 and 25 has been my go to powders for the 25.06 and the heavier bullets in the 115-120gr range. Both shoot extremely well in my rifle.

Anyone use RE26 on 115 grain and heavier? In a quick test, I got to 58gr. with 115 VLDs @ 3307fps (26" bbl). No real signs, but it seemed to be getting close to max. Group size was kinda big, but I haven't found a good OAL for the VLDs yet. Just started messing with them. Got a box & they're almost gone with no more in sight.
