A hailstorm damaged 14,000 solar panels in Scottsbluff, NE. They're supposed to be hail proof. However, they got baseball sized hail. I think that was a bit above specs. Anyway, the town is out of power until repairs can be made. I wonder if they'll rethink this 'green' thing. Now they have to dispose of all those 'green' solar panels. It'll take a pretty big landfill. HAILSTORM

The Nebraska power ourage map isn't showing any power outages in that area.
Normally wind and solar farms just feed into the grid, shutting down or going offline has no effect on any particular areas power.
They'll probably make a nifty upgrade to the facility on their insurance companies dime.

Same thing happened in California a while back. Those panels have some nasty chemicals in them when they get shattered. Whole thing was bulldozed into a hole if I recall correctly.
