Bullschite. Power is just fine here, and has been since last Friday, which is when the hail storm hit. Yup, NPPD just switched to a different feeder line which again is common.

A hailstorm damaged 14,000 solar panels in Scottsbluff, NE. They're supposed to be hail proof. However, they got baseball sized hail. I think that was a bit above specs. Anyway, the town is out of power until repairs can be made. I wonder if they'll rethink this 'green' thing. Now they have to dispose of all those 'green' solar panels. It'll take a pretty big landfill. HAILSTORMMy wife is in Scottsbluff, NE as I type, been there for a week, they are not out of power, no businesses closed, the most damage that has been done, was to Scottsbluff Country Club, it destroyed their greens. And life goes on.

Rock Chuck: I never thought of that (hail damage to solar panels)! I wonder if that regions monies would have been better invested in a modern nuclear power plant? I prefer good old hydro-electric power myself for affordability and reliability. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy

Yup and the Texas power grid did real well with a little snow and cold just a few years ago..... Another Montana leftard. So predictable. Guess you don't know that Texas has been screwed into using wind and solar for 38% of their energy. You know why? You dumb leftist bastards and Biden lovers subsidize solar and wind, regulate coal and natural gas out of existance then make like it was the state of Texas's fault we had an energy shortage. Wind and solar are reliable less than 24% of the time. And guess what retard that unreliable period always coincides with bad weather. You idiots can't pull your heads out of your azzes no matter what. Go Fuq yourself.

Baseball sized hail will fug up most everything it hits. Ten years ago there was softball sized hail way south of us that punched holes through people's roofs, some of the hail made into their living rooms.

Cattle are good. Corn is hit and miss depending on where the fields lay. Lots of crop damage to the immediate North and East of Scottsbluff. Damage South and East of Scottsbluff/Gering. Lots of damage at the hospital (N edge of town) and due East in almost a straight line. The solar panels sit roughly 1 mile east of the hospital. They're pretty messed up. But again, only localized power outage the night of the storm. Power was back up to that small section of town within an hour or so. The surrounding area of the panhandle has been hammered almost every night for a week.

I wonder if they'll rethink this 'green' thing? Nope. Not for a second. They'll double down. High level Liberals are making too much money off of it.

I’ve often wondered about big hail and solar panels I wondered about how much the solar panels charge with a heavy layer of ice & snow. We have wind chargers here that sit idle most of the time, either too much wind or too little. You can rely on coal fired and nuke plants to supply steady power.

They’ll soon be installing a solar powered retractable roof for the solar array.

Our hard-earned tax money paid for that boondoggle and our tax money will pay to replace the mess they created. The damage to America may never be fixed until people wake up and realize what they are doing and put a stop to the insanity. Property owners aren't going to turn down the money they are willing to pay to destroy the land. The temptation is too great. Run the politicians off that are willing to do the damage and it will stop.
