Beautiful deer, but I think that you may be mixed up on which end of the deer is which - that is the head end - those are "big-racked" deer. Best, John

That's what I'm talkin' about......wow! By the way. I've heard that the buck the kid shot (massive non-typical) is green scored by B&C scorer at way over 300", making him the biggest killed in many, many years. I'm sure we'll hear more about it.
It is irrelevant what you think. What matters is the TRUTH.

The top pictured buck was taken near Rifle, CO., 2 or 3 years back. Don't know what area. Another monster typical was taken in unit 2, nw of Craig, this year. Was told he is the biggest taken in the state in the last 43 years. I'll try to run down the link.... Found it..... http://www.craigdailypress.com/news/2007/nov/09/craig_resident_bags_big_one_hunting_trip/

What a disappointment. I don't mind somebody getting lucky, but it sounds like he shot it from the road.
"The pair drove to game management unit 2, the Douglas Mountain area referred to by Vesely.
He found a spot he wanted to turn off the road into.
Coleman passed it.
Vesely then wanted to turn right.
Coleman turned left.
He passed what he called two smaller bucks, then three more.
I have a five-pointer at home, he said. I wasnt going to stop until I saw something worth it.
He didnt see it, but Coleman did.
The buck was following a doe, walking away from me, Vesely said. He turned to face me about 300 yards out, and I dropped him. One shot and he was down.
Vesely looked at his watch a few minutes later.
It was barely past 8, he chuckled and said. Just about two hours, and I was done. Its not supposed to work like that.
However difficult hunting is supposed to be, Vesely made it look easy.
I have always wanted to shoot the big one, he said. Im going to hang the antlers in the Chamber of Commerce so people can see. Ive earned some bragging rights. "
"Earned bragging rights"? For road hunting? The buck deserved better.
