$1200+ for a Remington action? Good grief that's insane.

Can't complain about that, I guess, other than to wonder why they chose to use the late war, stamped, nose caps, rather than the early to middle war forged nose caps.

I guess that’s cool. I like them. I really can’t see them selling a lot. I’ve got a couple of Yugo 48s I paid $150 each for that are in almost new shape for shooters. So, I doubt I would be interested.

So, I doubt I would be interested. Yep, I remember those Yugos going for that price in the early 1990s. I picked up a few. One of them turned out to be an actual captured Nazi 98k. Many of the captured specimens were remarked (Nazi marks milled off the receiver and barrel and Yugo marks put in their place), reblued, Cosmolined, and stockpiled. Had the store personnel realized what it was, the price would likely have been double. It was just marked and priced like the other Yugo Mausers on the floor rack. Nice clean bore, too. Here it is:

So another Zastava importer arises. That’s good.
Didn’t know about their piston guns. Interesting

I can’t imagine why they would produce a Mauser in war dress. It’s a great action but nobody needs stripper clips and bent bolt with iron sights. Their “precision “ rifle links way overpriced to me. I’d have to play with one to find out. Not in orange though.

I would prefer they make a brand new square bridge to original spec.
In point of fact...with CNC machining CZ should stop fucking about and reintroduce Brno models 21 and ZG47.

Remington copied Mauser. Basically every bolt action out there copied Mauser. Yes, much about the basic concept of modern bolt action rifles stems directly from the work of Peter Paul Mauser, and were groundbreaking when he first came up with them in the late 19th Century.

Nope- - - - -I've still got a good stash of Turkish Mausers that I bought when they were selling for $29.95 apiece for complete rifles. Squirreled away 30 of them back then!

I've had two Turkish Mausers in my life. One was used, but in nice shape, and carbine length. I also had a mint condition, full rifle length, Turkish Mauser 98. The latter model was ordered in large numbers by Iran for their military from Mauser Works after WWI.

Mitchell’s was selling those new production 98s before they went under. They offered a tanker-style shorty and .308 and .243 versions IIRC.
I handled an original M48 a few years back in a small shop. The trigger pull closely resembled the one on a Mosin Nagant I once owned. Otherwise, the rifle was very clean. Hopefully the current Zastava ones will be a little better.
