I'm about to pull the trigger on a couple more barrels. Been considering K&P.... Any experiences or insight would be very much appreciated.

I have one I bought second hand. It was a pressure gun barrel for some lab. Was 3” diameter, SS, 28” long with a copper crusher hole over the 280 Remington chamber.

I chopped the chamber and throat off even though the throat looked good. Then turned it to a Remington Mag sporter profile which I fitted to a S/A 700 and chambered for 7TCU. Cut and crowned it at 20”. It shoots very well with most any load I’ve tried. It machined very well too. I wouldn’t be afraid to try another one if I got a deal like I did on that one.

I know that LRI uses them and speaks well of them. My experience was similar to gene’s. After multiple attempts, I actually got him on the phone and asked a question about the possibility of doing a ks contour. He was going to call me back. Never called me back and after multiple messages which I left for him I finally just moved on.

I appreciate the responses. I’ve spoken with them at K&P and they’ve told me they can handle my request. I guess we’ll see….

Very good barrels. The break in is a bit different than most...they shoot very well.

Thank you Al. Can you elaborate on the break in?

If you're used to doing break in by firing a couple, cleaning and having the patches come out lily white...these are a bit different. A new K&P will take a larger number of rounds fired before the 'coppering' decreases. That's normal and nothing to be concerned about. Just put together some low-medium pressure rounds and let the bullets do the final 'lapping'. Make sure to not use a coated bullet (moly, HBN, etc).

Somewhere around 35-50 rounds, they just settle down and shoot very, very well with normal cleaning intervals.

A few of us bought a group of about 30 barrels recently from K&P. wink

LRI used a KP barrel on my 1-7 twist 25/06. They even matched the NULA barrel contour. It shoots great. I wouldn’t hesitate to use another KP barrel.

I'm waiting on a K&P 6 Dasher 1-7.5" M24 at 22.5" for my Accuracy International AT. Have high hopes. Hint..............

I am indeed a BR Slut, but the Accuracy International AT makes barrel swaps sooooooo easy, that I may as well zig, instead of zag. Hint.

Hopefully the cart ain't too far in front of the horse,as I wait on brass and dies. Hint.

Then there's concerns on feeding BR-esque cases in AW magazines. Hint.

Thoughts? Hint..................(grin)

When I reached out to Eric,he said he wouldn't be home from National Championships with the Army Reserve Team, until today. I'll give him a day to get his feet on the ground and will see what he has for Dasher reamers,or if I can simply spec my freebore. Hint.

I'm liking the 112 at 2.490" COAL and it plays nice in HRD Gear gut swapped AI AW mags. Hint.

Be curious to see how mad my BR's get. Can't see the Kreed's or Twat-Sixes giving a fhuqk. Hint.

I'm thinking it will probably shoot. Hint..............(grin)

Not home at the moment.
But I'll take a look at mine.
Can't remember the numbers right now but your welcome to use it .
I just retired my Dasher on the Gary Schneider barrel.
Don't see myself going back to it.
Or Schneider for that matter.
Had a Dasher on my 17 pound and a BRA on the 12 pound. Since 2020.
Got my monies worth.
