Have any of you used these on deer? I have killed two with the 150gr Deer Season XP, but I am looking to try this Federal load. Thanks

We use 180’s in our .357 maximum and they hammer deer. Most only go 5-30 yards and Most don’t leave the food plot. I load 180 hornady ssp and Speers HCFP. 2325 fps.
Should be comparable I’d think.

No experience but I don't doubt they will do just fine so long as the group good in your rifle. Like you I used the 150 xps last year to kill a buck and a doe last year in Ohio at 180-190 yards. Neither deer went more than 15 yards. Its probably spitting hairs but the 180 might offer a bit more knock down power. At short ranges I would shoot whatever round shoots better out of your rifle.

I have had outstanding luck with the 150 gr Deer Season load for the .350. What about it don't you like?

I killed a couple deer with that load, and I plan on continuing to use it to develop an opinion about it. Both deer were shot through the lungs and blood was great on one. The second one I think the heart was damaged and probably wasn’t pumping blood out of the exit hole. I was using the 150gr Deer Season XP mainly because of its accuracy and it feeds really well…I’m getting 2200fps with it from a 16” barrel. This new 180gr Federal Power Shok feeds great too. I’m hoping it performs well on the deer. I know it probably won’t go faster than 2075fps

It shoots just fine out of my rifle. Got into casting lead bullets for it and they are what I hunt with.

For whatever reason, the 180gr Win PP ammo feeds like dog sh it out of my Ruger American Ranch. The Federal Power Shok 180’s that I picked up feed through as slick as deer guts on a brass doorknob. Go figure

Have taken 2 doe with the .350. One with the 150 DS XP at 65 yds, went 30 and piled up.
The other with the 150 XP Copper Impact at 75 yds and instant DRT nap.
I have 180’s just don’t see the need
