A friend found an acupuncture allergist who successfully treated him. I believe the doctor was located outside of Nashville, Tn. Sounds strange but anything is worth a try.

I had it many years back, I was the first person the military tested for it. I didn’t get a rash, within 40 minutes of eating red meat I got flu symptoms for about 2 hours or so.

It subsided after about 3 years

We basically don’t have ticks anymore. Lots of summers now I go thr whole summer without getting one. When i was a kid, I’d get half a dozen going out in the yard for an hour or so.

One of my wife's good friends has it. She went deer hunting with her husband got one tick on her and got it. She can't eat any mammal meat or she goes into shock. If she pats out hamburger patties and doesn't wear gloves she gets a bad rash. Leather belts and shoes from mammals give her a rash. It would be bad to get.

I'd try ivermectin for sure if I got it. Can't hurt a thing and might help?

Speaking of fire ants and allergies...
Lots of fire ants in suburban Atlanta.

Saw an allergist last Thursday. She did the blood test for AGS; got the results on Saturday and it was negative. Very relieved.

Tested me for 30 other substances and I reacted to 17 of them. I’ve had very few allergies beyond seasonal allergies and now all of a sudden I’m seemingly allergic to everything. 40mg of Zyrtec a day and everything is fine.

I've recently went through this bullshit. they were absolutely certain I had this alpha gal disease. I did not. tested me for a bunch of other allergies and sent me to an allergy specialist cost of [bleep] [bleep] of money and they just told me my regular doctors [bleep] a quack.
you're going to know if you got real allergies or not. they're not going to tell a beef farmer he's allergic to red meat they can go [bleep] their self

So a beef farmer can’t get alpha gal? Funny, because my dad was a beef farmer and for sure had it. It darn near killed him until they figured it out.

you bet they can it's just pretty hard to take but you can't consume your own finished product.. but that's one of the first things any of these regular doctors want to take if you have a stomach or intestine issue everybody's allergic to red meat cuz it's supposed to be bad..

something else that will mimic the symptoms of this is also liver issues...

I agree about the irony of the whole thing, it wasn’t lost on my Dad either. FWIW it totally sucked for him.
