Just curious as to how many of you have seen any sign of wolves this year? I'm mostly interested in Idaho, Montana and Wyoming. This is not meant to be a pro-wolf vs anti-wolf @#$!! match.

I saw three wolves this year. The first was in central Idaho unit 26 and was chasing a cow elk down the mountain (elk escaped in the river). The second was on the Lochsa in unit 12. Only a brief sighting of a sub-adult wearing a collar. The third was in the Elk City area in unit 15. This was another collared wolf and was being harrassed by two coyotes. I also saw lots of tracks in unit 12 and remains of three elk (unit 12 and 26) presumed wolf kills. All sighting were in the spring and summer.

Plenty of sign in unit 12. I scouted there all summer and hunted there for a tag I got there. After that fire near elk summit and the wolf component it's not worth going down there. Even before the fire it I saw no elk and moose. Only a few whitetails and lots of grouse here, no large game to be seen.

I live in unit 4 and have noticed lots of sign on the unit 4 and 6 borders. Only seen one of those wolves this year and got a good look at one. Huge creature, for a wild dog.

I haven't been in 10 for years. I remember seeing quite a few elk during the summer that I was there.

A few years ago, I saw a large gray wolf while turkey hunting in 10a. He stood in the open at fifty yards for several seconds, then took off.

Several years before the wolves were "re-introduced", I heard wolves howling and took photos of tracks in Bear Valley (34). This was during elk season.

Saw one wolf last year and a tremendous amount of sign. Didn't see any wolves or sign this year in the same Idaho unit.

I saw tracks and heard one wolf howl in Unit 36, a few miles from Stanley, in early November. No elk.

You want mine? There's a couple that come through the yard in the night 2 or 3 times a week, judging from the dogs' reactions. Haven't had enough snow to confirm tracks yet.

Haven't seen any lately in the out and about, but I've not been getting out. Weekend weather has been great, commitments sucking big time...

But the .260 is sighted in.....

We saw some sign in unit 23,they appeared to have been keeping the elk all stirred up.It must be hell on the elk always keeping an eye out for wolves, whilst trying to raise youngins in order to feed all the idaho rednecks round these parts.

Saw some in unit 48. They were trotting down a popular road with lots of campsites, some occupied.

We only saw one in Northern Minne this year and he was churning through the snow at full steam--was that you behind him Dave?
