Season right around the corner, anyone seen the prices in the local stores of 12 and 20 gauge shells?Was in Walmart yesterday and they only had a few boxes of shells, prices were like $34 for box of 100 which was 4 boxes of 25 per box. Usually they are stacked out in isles but these were just a few on the shelves. Looking for a few 20 gauge, and what are you seeing in the ozs per shell? May be bit early for them to be hitting the stores in big numbers .

People say you can't save money by reloading 12 ga but when cheap promo loads are over $8 a box I can reload cheaper.

This. I bought a flat of Winchester 7/8 ounces of #7.5 for $89.95 at a local shop last weekend. Cheapest I have seen in person or online.

I checked a month ago and cheapest was $9.99/box for Federal Top gun and the AA shells were $18.49/box.
Thankfully like many I'll just keep reloading until I run out of components.

Laws aren't preventative measures. In other words, more laws won't prevent gun crime from happening.

Target/dove loads are easy to find for the 20 gauge. What is not easy to find is quality #6 or #5 one-ounce loads. It can be done but takes a little digging around. The price of decent #5 & #6 loads is running about $15 - $20 per box.

Picked up a case (250) at local Academy Sports yesterday of 20 ga Remington Sur-Shot Heavy Dove loads in 1oz for $119.00. They have 7 1/2 & 8’s and sell by box or case. Have other brands as well and stacked out in the isle. They also had a swivel seat that attaches to your 5 gallon bucket for $9.85 that I picked up.

MB, true statement there….cost more to fill up one time than a full year of shells to dove hunt.

If,,,,,,,, you can find 20 ga. at WM that's probably your best bet price wise.
I was on ammoseek this AM & thought I might have found a deal with no tax but shipping for 2 flats was $28 & that put them over WM w/tax here.
