Wondering if anyone has any insight or knows any history on this chambering. I picked up a rifle chambered in 411 Bert at an auction house in Arizona a few years ago. It came with a set of Redding dies. The rifle itself was relatively well done, a military mauser action with a aftermarket trigger, three position model 70 style safety, a decent set of open sights, sitting in a bell and carlson if I remember correctly. The 411 bert cartridge is basically a 458 win mag necked down to 411 with the exception of having a really long neck. I haven’t done much with the rifle other than resize a bunch of brass and fire form it with some cast bullets meant for a 41 mag. I kind of lost interest after that and the rifle has been sitting in the back of the safe. I was just thinking about getting it out and working up a load for it. I assume this is a one off chambering that was the result of someones brain storming as I have done internet searches and I can’t find it referenced anywhere. I am curious about a history though so I thought I would post this here see if anyone has any thoughts.

I’d look for some 416 Taylor data and use their starting loads and work from there.
The other option would be to look for some 400 H&H data.
Your rifle sounds interesting. I thought I was pretty well versed in .411 but have never heard of the 411 Bert.
Chronographs, bore scopes and pattern boards have broke a lot of hearts.

There is a .411 KDF, basically a 411 Taylor.
North Fork has some nice .411 bullets.
Get close and wack em hard!
