Not yet, but it's on the bucket list. I did grab one of the similar 5.7x28 models early and have a bunch of cases prepped for stuffing tomorrow.

I like the slim design and the good trigger, plus the optics-ready slide. I put a Holosun 507(K?) on it and got an Olight combo light and laser for the rail, plus a Gunfighters Inc. chest holster and a Muddy River Tactical belt holster and mag pouch. I’m hoping that holsters will fit the .22 mag as well.

One thing to watch with the M&Ps is you really have to whack the mag to seat it properly when the slide is closed or risk a FTF. That applies to my 5.7 and my Shield Plus anyway.

Nice snag, Tom. A full report is expected, naturally.

Would like to hear some first hand experiences. I really like the idea of it. I was also really excited about the Kel-Tec version that came out a few years back.....wasn't as excited after shooting it.

From the results I’ve seen on YouTube, a lot of these pistols are very fussy about ammo. This one seemed a bit less so, maybe due to the delay system.

My 5.7 seems to be throwing the first shot a bit, but I don’t know if it’s me or the gun yet. I found a new brand of ammo that doesn’t use FN brass and is considerably cheaper than the others; $.50 a pop for FMJ, and $.60 for VMaxes. Hoping the primers aren’t crimped like much of the current stuff.

If ingwe comes home with a smile on his face, I guess I’ll have to start looking for the Maggie version…..

Just one question... where's the threads? Total shame if you couldn't run this with a suppressor.

I hope it proves to be reliable. I looked closely at them, but the lack of a threaded barrel and some reliability issues scared me off.

Not yet. Won’t help a heck of a lot if what I saw with the 5.7 is any indication. Still pretty loud and unlike 5.7 there’s no subsonic ammo AFIK for the mag, although maybe the Gold Dot might be close.

Best get out there and start looking then! laugh

I had one ftf on the first mag...which I was told to kind of expect. 250 rounds later not a bobble. I shot everything from 30 to 50 grainers and it showed no real preference for any of them, though there was an old box of 45 gr something that shot bigger groups. The 8 inch gong at 50 yards wasn't much of a stretch.... grin

Just got off the phone with Ron at Oakland Guns. He’s got them “in the warehouse”and is grabbing one for me.

My LGS had two that zipped out the door right off and more coming, but Ron has a great layaway plan that will keep it on ice until I’m ready for it. I’ve bright a bunch from him, including my FC.

So, how did you like the fireball and big bang from yours? Looks pretty impressive on TV. My 5.7 is a real attention-getter at the range. I try to warn the bystanders before lettin’ it rip. Plugs and muffs recommended!

I kinda like it as a magnum. No sense in trying to make it a 22lr under the pretenses of being subsonic quiet.....

Chrono tests I’ve seen show that .22 mag in a pistol is pretty much the same as .22LR in rifles. 30gr loads run about 1400+, 40gr about 1200+.

Back in the 80s, I clocked Stingers and 40gr Maxi Mags from the same 5 1/2” Single Six. Velocities were very close, in the mid 1200s, though the Stinger bullet was 25% lighter. Holes made in a bar of laundry soap were about the same.

5.7 velocities from pistols vary a bunch, but load data shows they can reach 1800-1900 fps, pretty close to .22 mag rifle loads, and some of the light bullet ones go well over 2000. Penetration, tumbling, and expansion in gel are all over the place. Both S&W pistols have rails, and I have the rail adapter for the Magneto Speed, so I’ll get some numbers eventually.

Known numbers are 22 rounds in the 5.7 mags, 30 in the ones for the .22 mag. The money just burns! I doubt very much that either pistol will be as accurate as my tweaked Victory.

This page has both tests where they chopped a barrel inch by inch and tests in regular guns. No auto pistols however.:

My 22 Mag handguns are a High Standard Sentinel MK 4 and two Old Model Ruger's. Best I remember they make a handgun a 22 RF rifle performance wise.
